Longvalley Restoration On-Going. North Branch Storm Sewer Nearing Completion, Start Roadway Improvements.

Work Completed Last Week, October 24th to 29th  
·         Water service replacements along North Branch Road
·         Final water main connection at North Branch Road and Country Lane
·         Storm sewer installation along North Branch Road
·         Storm sewer replacement between 342 & 348 North Branch Road
·         Paved first layer of asphalt pavement along Longvalley Road from river to North Branch Road
·         Adjusting manholes to grade along Longvalley Road
·         Driveway replacements along Longvalley Road
·         Rough grading and topsoil installation in preparation for sod along Longvalley Road
·         Fine grading topsoil and sod installation along Longvalley Road
·         Nicor gas main and service replacements along Longvalley Road and North Branch Road is now completed.

Work Anticipated to be completed This week, October 31st to  November 4th
·         Complete storm sewer installation along North Branch Road
·         Begin roadway improvements including removing the existing roadway, grading, and installing new aggregate base course in preparation for asphalt pavement.
·         Continue with fine grading topsoil and sod installation along Longvalley Road

The restoration work along Longvalley Road is on-going and will be nearly completed by the end of next week. The contractor will leave approximately 2 feet of sod to be installed following the roadway surface paving. The reason for leaving this area along the edge of pavement is so the contractor can match the new asphalt surface once it is paved.

Storm sewer installation along North Branch Road is on-going and is expected to be completed by the end of the week. Once the storm sewer is completed, all underground utility work will be completed and the roadway improvements will begin.

As the weather gets colder, we are closing in on the end of the construction season. The long-range schedule to complete the project this year includes:

North Branch Road:
·         Week of November 7th – Complete roadway excavation and preparation work for asphalt pavement
·         Week of November 14th – Pave first layer of asphalt pavement. Begin driveway restorations.
·         Week of November 21st (Prior to Thanksgiving) – Adjust Manholes to grade. Pave surface layer of asphalt.
·         Week of November 28th – Sod Restoration. 

Longvalley Road
·         Week of November 7th – Clean site and demobilize from construction staging area
·         Week of November 14th – Pave final surface layer of asphalt pavement
·         Week of November 21st – Complete sod restoration.

Thanks again for all your patience and understanding throughout the construction process. A significant amount of work has been completed the past several weeks and will continue for the next several weeks to get the project completed prior to the end of the construction season.

Roadway Paving along Longvalley Road. Water Service Replacements along North Branch Road.

Work Completed Last Week, October 10th to 14th  
·         Water main installation along North Branch Road completed
·         Performed necessary testing and received required approvals to place new water main into service along North Branch Road
·         Replaced water services along North Branch Road from Country Lane to Central Parkway
·         Made connection between new water main and existing water main at intersection of North Branch Road and Central Parkway
·         Roadway excavation, grading, and base course installation along Longvalley Road
·         Installed storm sewer overflow at east end of Longvalley Road
·         Installed concrete curb & gutter on east end of Longvalley Road
·         Storm sewer installation started along North Branch Road
·         Nicor gas main and service replacements along Longvalley Road and North Branch Road nearly completed

Work Anticipated to be completed This week, October 17th to 21st  
·         Pave first layer of asphalt pavement along Longvalley Road from river to North Branch Road.
·         Water service replacements along North Branch Road from Longvalley Road to Country Lane

Water service replacements along North Branch Road will begin next week. Water services will be replaced from the new water main to the existing valve and box located in front of each home. During the water service replacement, water to individual homes will be shut-off for approximately 2-3 hours while the transition from the old service to the new service is made. The contractor will notify each resident individually regarding the approximate time and day of the water shut-off prior to turning off the water.

It is anticipated water service replacements along North Branch Road will take the majority of next week and may not be completed until early the week of October 24th. Once the water service replacement are completed, the contractor will continue with the storm sewer improvements along North Branch Road.

The contractor started the roadway improvements along Longvalley Road by removing the existing materials to the depth required for the new asphalt pavement along with grading and installing aggregate base course. It is anticipated the first layer of asphalt pavement will be installed next week. This will be a significant project milestone for those residents along Longvalley Road by providing a smooth driving surface and greatly reducing the amount of dust created.

Underground Utility Improvements Continue along North Branch Road

Work Completed Last Week, September 26th to 30th
·         Underground utility work along Longvalley Road completed.
·         Sanitary sewer service replacements on west side of North Branch Road completed
·         Sanitary sewer manhole replacements along North Branch Road completed
·         Water main installation started along North Branch Road
·         Storm sewer installation started along North Branch Road
·         Nicor Gas began gas main and service replacements along Longvalley Road

Work Anticipated to be completed This week, October 3rd to 7th  
·         Complete water main installation along North Branch Road
·         Continue with storm sewer installation along North Branch Road
·         Perform required testing on newly installed water main prior to placing into service and beginning water service replacements along North Branch Road
·         Nicor gas to continue with gas main and service replacements along Longvalley Road

The underground utility work along Longvalley Road is now completed; therefore, Nicor Gas re-mobilized to the site to begin the gas main and service replacements. It is anticipated Nicor will be completed with a majority of their work by the end of the week of October 3rd.  Once the gas main and service replacements are completed, Nicor will be contacting each resident individually to schedule a time to switch from the old gas service to the new gas service. Please coordinate with Nicor to allow for this transition to occur as quickly as possible.

The contractor has moved on to North Branch Road to begin underground utility improvements. The sanitary sewer improvements are mostly completed. The water main and storm sewer installation is on-going. It is anticipated water service replacements will begin later this week or next week.
