Underground Improvements on Longvalley Road Nearly Complete. Work on North Branch Road to Begin

Work Completed Last Week, September 12th to 16th   
·         Completed installation of mainline storm sewer along Longvalley Road
·         Continued with minor repairs of existing storm sewer along Longvalley Road
·         Replaced storm sewer services along Longvalley Road as needed or planned
·         Completed final water main connections along Longvalley Road
o   Water main improvements along Longvalley Road are completed.
·         Started abandonment of fire hydrants and valves on old water main system
·         Grinding-in-place of existing roadway along North Branch Road

Work Anticipated to be completed This week, September 19th to 23rd   
·         Complete minor repairs in existing storm sewer along Longvalley Road
·         Complete storm sewer service replacements along Longvalley Road as planned
·         Begin sanitary sewer service replacements on the west side of North Branch Road
·         Nicor Gas to begin gas main and service replacements along Longvalley Road from Country Lane east to river.

The contractor has continued to work on the storm sewer improvements and repairs to the existing storm sewer system along Longvalley Road. It is anticipated all underground utility improvements will be completed on Longvalley Road near the middle of this week.

The contractor will move to North Branch Road to begin underground utility improvements this week. The contractor will begin with replacing those sanitary sewer services on the west side of the street. The sanitary sewer services on the west side of the street go under the roadway; therefore, are being replaced as part of this project prior to the roadway improvements. The sanitary sewer services on the east side of the street will not be replaced as part of this project since they do not go under the roadway.

Nicor will also begin mobilizing back to the project site to begin gas main and service replacement along Longvalley Road from Country Lane to the river.

Closure of Longvalley Road & Country Lane Extended to Friday, September 9th

Due to work not progressing as anticipated, the closure of the intersection at Longvalley Road and Country Lane will be extended through Friday, September 9th.

It is anticipated the work within the intersection will be completed by the end of the day on Friday.

Please use an alternate route around the intersection.

Intersection of Longvalley Road and Country Lane Closed on Thursday, September 8th

In order to complete the storm sewer improvements within the intersection of Longvalley Road and Country Lane, the intersection will be closed to traffic in all directions on Thursday, September 8th from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The school districts and bus companies have been notified of this closure.

Please use an alternate route through the neighborhood and plan accordingly to avoid delays.

Storm Sewer Installation Continues along Longvalley Road

Work Completed Last Week, August 29th to September 2nd  
·         Continued with storm sewer installation along Longvalley Road.
·         Storm sewer main line completed from river to Rollwind Road
·         Site clean-up prior to Labor Day Weekend.

Work Anticipated to be completed This week, September 5th to 9th 
·         Continue with storm sewer installation along Longvalley Road from Rollwind Road west towards North Branch Road
·         Storm sewer installation within intersection of Longvalley Road and Country Lane.
·         Complete final water main connections at intersection of Longvalley Road and Rollwind Road

The contractor has continued with the storm sewer installation along Longvalley Road, working within several intersections last week and scheduled again for this week. Last week, work within the intersections of Crabtree Lane / Rio Vista Lane and Rollwind Road was completed.  This week, it is anticipated work will continue within the intersections of Rollwind Road and Country Lane.

Thank you for all your patience as getting through these intersections and around the neighborhood has been challenging. The Village of Glenview has been in contact with the school districts in the area to update them on the construction progress and schedule to ensure the buses are able to navigate through the construction area.

It is anticipated the storm sewer improvements along Longvalley Road will be completed within the next 2 weeks. Once the storm sewer is completed, the contractor will begin the underground utility improvements along North Branch Road.
